Signal Boosting for Haiti
Hi all,

In lieu of the state of emergency in Haiti, fandom is coming together in spectacular ways to help raise funds and awareness. We'd like to give you a list of communities and charities working for Haiti to which you can direct your generosity.

Helping Haiti fandom efforts & charities:

A general article on how you can help

General note about donations from phantombluerose: As an FYI, if you donate with a credit card the organization doesn't always get the full amount. The processing company (Visa, AmEx, etc) usually take a transaction fee and/or a percentage of the amount. So that shouldn't discourage you from donating to ANY worthy cause, but if you have the option to have something taken directly from a bank account know that more of your money will then go to the organization. Otherwise go to Razoo.com. You can donate to charities and they have partners who will cover any credit card fees so the charity gets 100% of your donation.

Alternate ways to donate from Save the Children (thanks to miakun)

help_haiti - from their profile: This Journal was created in the morning of January 13, 2010, as a place for fandomers to help raise money to help in the rescues, recoveries and rebuilding of Haiti following the tragic earthquake on January 12, 2010.

Re-boost of earlier post: lamardeuse has an ongoing list of Merlin-specific offers to help_haiti here.
